For many older adults in need of long term care services, home is their first choice for care. VNS CHOICE, a comprehensive managed long-term care program, enables over 3,600 serving frail older adults in New York City to satisfy that preference.VNS CHOICE was established in 1998 as an innovative program of integrated care. Under the program model, care managers, or 'Nurse Consultants', lead an interdisciplinary team that also includes social workers, rehabilitation therapists, nurse practitioners and nutritionists. These clinical specialists collaborate closely with program member/patients, caregivers, community physicians, and other providers to achieve a common goal: helping member/patients remain independent at home and in their communities for as long as is safely possible.We are seeking talent for the opportunity described below.
Performs a wide variety of secretarial/administrative duties to support the Provider Relations Department. Assists Vice President and Director and other staff with coordination/execution of provider education, provider contracting database and credentialing processes. Works under general supervision.
Education: High School Diploma or the equivalent required. Associates Degree in Business, Communications or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum one year experience in managed health care environment required. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications required. Ability to type 50-60 WPM required. Experience in administering provider relationships preferred.
