Plans, manages, and evaluates clinical orientation and ongoing education and training programs and competency development for VNSNY CHOICE staff. Develops new and modifies existing curriculum and training materials to ensure all clinical training and educational needs are met. Recommends and implements approved changes to ensure effective clinical education and training support for field operations. Partners with Clinical Operations, Performance Improvement, Compliance and Service Operations to ensure education and training is aligned with current clinical standards, guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations. Facilitates consistency of dissemination of standardized education policies, procedures and programs.
Licensure: Current license and registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse or current registration to practice as a Licensed social worker in New York State required. or license and current registration to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of New York required.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing . Master’s Degree in Health Education and Case Management Certification preferred or equivalent work experience required OR
Master's degree in Social Work after successfully completing a prescribed course of study at a graduate school of Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education and the Education Dept. and who is certified or licensed by the Education Dept to practice Social Work in New York State required OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an approved program /school required. Post-baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
Experience: Minimum four years’ experience in a community based or long term home health setting, including at least two years with a primary focus on education and training, required. Knowledge of health care delivery systems, patient care, care coordination, and clinical processes required. Experience assessing and designing clinical education programs preferred. Experience in a health care setting in a teaching capacity with an understanding of adult education and learning processes preferred. Effective oral and written communication, presentation, analytical, coaching and organizational skills required. Knowledge of computer applications required.
