Director, Hospice After Hours

Responsibilities

Oversees Hospice evening/night/weekend operations and the Crisis Care (CC) Program. Develops cohesive work processes and procedures, and establishes appropriate work schedules to ensure necessary coverage for both programs. Ensures that all teams are staffed appropriately. Leads CC Program expansion and development initiatives; provides agency wide CC Program education to improve access and utilization. Ensures VNSNY has the optimum quality and financial outcomes from the Crisis Care Program. Collaborates with Hospice leadership to develop strategies to improve patient/caregiver satisfaction scores. Oversees referrals to the Hospice and Palliative Care program during evenings, nights and weekends. Prepares management summary reports. Works under general supervision.


Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred.

Education: Bachelor&rsquot;s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required. Master&rsquot;s Degree in Nursing preferred.

Experience: Minimum eight years of progressively responsible managerial experience in hospital, health care or clinical setting required. Minimum three years of experience in a Hospice Program required. Minimum of five years progressively responsible experience working a RN required, preferably in a Hospice environment. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills required.

Position requires flexible hours and ability to travel to all regions as needed to supervise and meet with staff of all Hospice service delivery area.
