Performs a wide variety of secretarial/administrative duties to support the Provider Relations Department. Assists Vice President and Director and other staff with coordination/execution of provider education, provider contracting database and credentialing processes. Works under general supervision
-Assists in credentialing and re-credentialing activities for all provider types, including related correspondence.
-Assists with preparation of Credentialing Committee meeting materials including agenda, minutes, mailings and follow-up items.
-Assists departmental management in coordinating and maintaining current information in the provider databases. Obtains required documentation from providers necessary for the establishment of a complete provider record on VNSNY systems, e.g. IRS W9 form, credentialing/re-credentialing application documents, etc.
-Ensures that provider contract originals are processed in accordance with departmental policy, including obtaining appropriate signoffs and executive signature to fully execute the contracts, returning signed originals to providers, , scanning into online viewable system, and filing copies in the provider files.
-Coordinates provider correspondence. Prepares and mails all welcome letters/kits to newly contracted/credentialed providers.
Provides administrative support to the Department including filing, mail distribution, preparing reports, and documenting inquiries and requests.
Education: High School Diploma or the equivalent required. Associate’s Degree in Business, Communications or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum one year experience in Health Care environment required. Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications required. Experience in administering provider relationships preferred.
