Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist


Identifies and recruits prospective candidates for current and future opportunities. Builds strong talent pipelines for current and future staffing needs. Maintains knowledge in technical and non-technical disciplines in order to effectively engage candidates. Leverages creativity and knowledge of business lines and disciplines to find and engage candidates on the various available career opportunities. Supports the Talent Acquisition team by building pipelines of top talent (technical and non-technical) through researching, networking and engaging social media. Works under general supervision.

  • Identifies passive candidates by utilizing a variety of sources, such as LinkedIn Recruiter, candidate databases, social media, contact lists, and employee referrals to create candidate flow and target specific skillsets as required by position.
  • Builds and maintains a network/pipeline of potential candidates through market research and insights.
  • Generates candidate leads through extensive name generation research, relationship building, networking, and complex internet searches.  Engages candidates consistently throughout the recruitment process.
  • Works with Talent Acquisition team to develop and execute candidate pipeline strategies. Leverages social media, email campaigns, and targeted communications to generate candidate flow and build talent communities.
  • Provides excellent candidate management by conducting phone screens, keeping candidates updated on recruitment process, and providing closure to candidates.
  • Stays up to date on new media tool best practices and how the Talent Acquisition team can best utilize these recruiting/networking tools.
  • Identifies active and untapped labor pools, researches new sources for Internet recruitment and makes recommendations to Talent Acquisition team.
  • Generates weekly recruitment reports/metrics to track VNSNY sourcing effectiveness. Participates in recruitment meetings to strategize and implement overall sourcing strategies.
  • Attends recruitment events (job fairs, open houses, conferences, etc.) to meet and pre-screen applicants.
  • Keeps informed of latest issues and trends in Talent Acquisition, health care, and specific technologies.  Keeps abreast of VNSNY compensation and benefit plans and practices.
  • Participates in projects and performs other duties, as required.


Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field or equivalent work experience required.

Experience:  Minimum three years of experience in talent acquisition, with a minimum of one year of experience sourcing for positions in a variety of disciplines and levels, required.  Effective verbal, written and presentation skills required.  Demonstrated strong customer service orientation required. Knowledge of HR and talent acquisition best practices required. Proficient in Microsoft applications required. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills required. General knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local employment laws, regulations, rules and practices preferred.
